Shopping in Madrid~

Primark at Gran Via
Lets be real, the real reason I went to Madrid is because they were having REBAJAS at every store... translated to SALE! One of my favorite pass-times.

There are a lot of independently owned boutiques, go into those! You kind find some real gems in these shops. Otherwise, if you ever find yourself in Madrid or in Europe walking by one of these stores (especially in January or July during the semi annual sales), I recommend that you stop in!
  • Primark. At least give yourself a few hours, it is like a Forever21 on steriods, and a place I like to call heaven on earth... I may have visited two days in a row
  • Bershka. PacSun's twin- very boho
  • Oysho. A Victoria's Secret but less sexual and more cozy
  • Sfera. Trendy but casual, a little more upscale like Nordstrom's merchandise
  • Pull & Bear. A baby between PacSun & Bloomingdales- more boho chic
  • Natura. A Spanish anthropologie
  • Women's Secret. Victoria's Secret's twin, obvi
  • El Corte Ingles. Madrid's only and massive department store, check out the rooftop restaurants too!
  • Zara/TopShop/H&M/Mango. They sometimes have different (and better) merchandise than the states
If you are looking to shop at these stores you can find them in a few different places: in Puerta de Sol, going up the streets that are North of Puerta de Sol, heading east on Gran Via toward Retiro de Parque, and along Calle de Fuencarral.

Spain: Day 6

#nofilter
Today is the day I left Madrid, tomorrow  is my first day of work after 11 days off in a row. While I do love my job, I also love paid time off spent traveling!

Luckily, my flight home ended on the sweetest of notes. I left Madrid at 4PM heading west toward the setting sun. Since the plane is going over 500 mph it seemed like we were chasing the sun and I had the pleasure of watching the sunset for over two hours. There is just something about a sunrise or sunset that is so humbling, breathtaking, and refreshing... let alone getting to admire it for over two hours.

This trip was booked with the intentions of doing a little soul searching, a little self-reflecting, and a little reminiscing. I somehow managed to get a lot of each of those, and I realized that while enjoying this sunset. I feel rejuvenated with a higher sense of purpose, more confident about who I am, and extremely thankful for everything I have been blessed with.
